The 8 Days Rongai Route is a less crowded and scenic option for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. This route approaches Kilimanjaro from the northern side, offering a unique perspective compared to other routes. It’s known for its relatively gentle ascent and beautiful landscapes, including rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert. Here’s a summary of the 6-day Rongai Route itinerary:

Tour Plan

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport: Meet your representative and transfer to your hotel for overnight accommodation.

Transfer to Rongai Gate for registration and then begin the trek through the forested lower slopes. Reach Simba Camp for the night

Hike through moorland and grasslands, enjoying views of the mountain. Reach Kikelelwa Camp for the night.

Ascend to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, located at the base of Mawenzi Peak. This day includes a steep climb with spectacular views.

Trek through the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo, reaching Kibo Camp in preparation for the summit attempt.

Midnight Ascent to Uhuru Peak for sunrise. After reaching the summit, descend to Horombo Camp for the night.

After breakfast at Horombo Hut, begin your descent to Mandara Hut. Enjoy the changing scenery as you retrace your steps through the lush rainforest. The hike to Mandara Hut takes about 4-5 hours. From there, continue your descent to Marangu Gate, which takes around 2-3 hours. At the gate, you’ll complete your climbing formalities and receive your certificate of achievement. Transfer back to your hotel to relax and celebrate your successful climb.

After breakfast, Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your departure flight back home.
